Kingsford Smith Community Energy Efficiency and Solar Grants 2020

Friday 17 April, 2020

Applications are now open for Community Energy Efficiency and Solar Grants 2020 in Kingsford Smith.

Local community organisations may be eligible to apply for a grant of up to $12,500 for energy generation, energy storage and other energy efficiency projects.

Examples of projects include the installation of solar panels on buildings or undertaking other efficiency measures to help save on electricity bills in these difficult times.

Your organisation must have an Australian business number (ABN) and be an incorporated not-for-profit organisation to apply. Please see this page for the full eligibility criteria:

The Federal government has abandoned the usual value for taxpayer money assessments and processes and decided to allocate just two grants of $12,500 for community organisations in Kingsford Smith with funding allocated on a first come, first served basis, and solely determined by the Department administering this grant program.

I disagree with this approach as we know that there are many deserving organisations in our community that are hoping to get funding for much needed projects but will now miss out.

With that in mind, I do encourage you to apply as soon as possible if your organisation has a valid energy efficiency project. As always, if you have any questions about grants opportunities in Kingsford Smith, please get in touch with our office.
