COVID-19 Update No.63

This is my latest update to provide you with information about the impact of Coronavirus (COVID-19) on our community.

From today, Monday 11 October 2021, restrictions have been eased for those in our community who are fully vaccinated. Some of the major changes include:

Travel and transport

  • Areas of concern along with restricted travel within LGAs and the 5km radius are now removed. This means that you can now travel anywhere within Greater Sydney (including Central Coast, Wollongong, Shellharbour and Blue Mountains) if you are fully vaccinated
  • Carpooling is permitted (members of your household only for people who are not fully vaccinated)
  • Please note that travel for holidays and recreational visits including day trips between Greater Sydney and regional NSW is currently still not permitted.

Masks and QR codes

  • Masks are still required for all staff and customers in all indoor settings including on public transport, planes and in airports (except children under the age of 12)
  • COVID Safe check-ins and proof of vaccination are required for staff and customers.

Shopping and personal services

  • Non-critical retail reopens with density limits (people who are not fully vaccinated can only access non-critical retail via Click & Collect)
  • Personal services (including hairdressers, spas, beauty and nail salons, tattoo and massage parlours) can reopen with density limits for up to 5 clients.

Restaurants and hospitality

  • Hospitality reopens with a density limit for up to 20 people per booking (takeaway only for people who are not fully vaccinated)
  • Drinking indoors must be seated, but drinking outdoors may be seated or standing
  • Dancing is permitted outdoors, while dancing indoors is not permitted (except at weddings)
  • No singing indoors (except for performers).

Visiting family and friends

  • Up to 10 visitors are allowed in your home now at any one time (visitor limits don’t apply for children under the age of 12)
  • Small outdoor gatherings and recreation are permitted with up to 30 people (2-person limit for people who are not fully vaccinated)
  • Visitors to residents in aged care facilities and disability homes permitted in line with their policies.
