This is my latest update to provide you with information about the impact of Coronavirus (COVID-19) on our community.
The NSW Government has announced a four week extension of the current stay at home orders across Greater Sydney. This means that the lockdown will continue at least until Saturday, 28 August at 12.01am.
Other changes announced today will see Greater Sydney residents required to limit shopping to within your Local Government Area (LGA) or within 10km from home if the shopping item not available locally. This change takes effect from midnight tonight (28 July).
Further changes that will take effect from this Saturday, 31 July at 12.01am include:
- Construction in non-occupied settings outside of LGAs of concern (and with no residents on-site) will re-open as planned, subject to a one person per 4sqm rule.
- Trades people, including cleaners, who are able to work with zero contact with residents will also be allowed to resume work (but with no more than two people inside and five outside). If contactless arrangements are not possible, work cannot go ahead.
- A “singles bubble” will also be introduced, allowing people who live alone to nominate one designated family member or friend to visit for companionship.
In another upcoming change, Year 12 students are set to return to face-to-face learning on Monday, 16 August, with the NSW Government finalising plans for the resumption of in-class study under strict COVID protocols.
All other current restrictions in regional NSW will remain unchanged.
