The NSW Government has announced an easing of social restrictions around community activities and schools following lower COVID case numbers in our state.
From this weekend, more than one parent can attend their children’s community sporting activities if physical distancing with other people is maintained.
Restrictions on schools will also be relaxed after the end of this term and into term four to include:
- Interschool activities recommencing from 26 September 2020
- Year 6 formals and graduations permitted
- High school formals permitted from 12 November 2020 to help limit any HSC disruption
- Kindergarten orientation, Year 7 transition, excursions and camps resuming with strict guidelines
- Community Languages Schools Program recommencing face to face learning
- Playing wind instruments, singing and chanting permitted with strict restrictions.
The NSW Government has also announced an easing of social restrictions for weddings with bridal parties of up to 20 now allowed on the dance floor at the reception, where previously only the bride and groom were permitted.
And from today (24 September 2020) people in NSW can now travel to South Australia without needing to quarantine.
We still need to do everything we can to ensure no further spread of COVID-19 in our community. Please maintain 1.5 metres between others and if you are sick or feeling unwell, stay at home and consult your GP.
