Say no to Sydney Water pumping raw sewage into Botany
In 2021, raw sewage should not be released into major waterways in our community.
But that is exactly what is occurring in Botany Bay during heavy rain with Sydney Water regularly discharging hundreds of millions of litres of raw sewage into the Mill Stream Wetlands which then flows into Botany Bay and out onto Foreshore Beach.
Sydney Water has now been given permission by the Morrison Government to continue discharging this raw sewage during wet weather until 31 March 2021. The Government will then reassess their permission after that date.
I strongly object to Sydney Water being granted any approval to discharge sewage into Botany Bay at any time. The Wetlands are an important community asset in the heart of our global city, but they are still being used as a sewage wastelands.
Please sign my petition calling on the Morrison Government to stop Sydney Water from pumping raw sewage into the Mill Stream Wetlands and Botany Bay.
